It seems like only yesterday, it was the first annual MTV O Awards, well it was, as they are having it twice in one year. The awards recognizes recording artists in the area of digital music on the internet, also incorporating social networking in its categories. As was to be expected, YouTube star, Justin Bieber, has been nominated for awards. Bieber is up against the usual suspects, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Side Bar: At the last MTV O Awards, Kanye West won the prize for "Best Tweets" on Twitter. Somebody at MTV must be smoking something. Kanye? "Best Tweets"? More like "Best Crazy Tweets."

Cheeky: Rihanna was as raunchy as ever on stage but her performance received a luke-warm response

She is known for her raunchy performances in skimpy clothing and Rihanna did not disappoint her fans when she performed in Brazil for the first time.

The star recently took some time out from her busy schedule and went on a short trip to the small Italian village of Portofino after performing at the V Festival in Essex.

Despite being bombarded by excited locals she still managed to enjoy taking casual walks along the beach as well as browse local shops.

But she was back to doing what she does best at the weekend and that was strutting her stuff on stage in front of thousands.

Wearing black fish net stockings and a black and white leotard which was clinched in at the waist with a belt, the singer looked stunning as she brought her Loud Tour to Sao Paulo.

She went for the natural look and let her brown hair fall in loose curls around her face.

Rihanna, who has never been to the South American country before, tweeted just before the show: 'SAO PAULO LET'S DO THISSSS!!! #LOUDtourBRAZIL'

But critics have said although her stage presence was good with good dance routines, her singing was luke-warm.

Others have said the pop star should stick to singing Reggae-inspired music like her hit 'What's My Name' and 'Man Down' rather than dance or pop.

But die-hard Rihanna fans didn't complain with many complimenting the singer on social networking site Twitter during the show.

Rihanna, who is currently recording a new album, tweeted after the concert: 'SAO PAULO I love you! I will definitely be back!!!'

The Loud Tour is the fourth by the artist who vowed to visit more than 20 countries in America and Europe.

Why does singer Lady Gaga think she has to consistently be so weird (other than bad advice from Madonna and Kabbalah). There's a point where so-called art becomes ugly and this is certainly it. She is wearing fabrics that look like she ripped up someone's couch and ottoman, paired with weaves that would make a horse jealous.

I know I've written this before, but it bears repeating - whatever happened to just going on stage and singing. Whatever happened to just being yourself. Why all the gimmicks, publicity stunts and distractions. It can't be good for her mental health going around looking like an alien from a sequined planet. It certainly does not make for better songs or a greater level of musicality. According to an online report, a group of girls are auctioning off their virginity to pay for Justin Bieber concert tickets. It's sad that teens today think their virginity is only worth a bit of money for concert tickets.

"The Party Life" Newsletter Volume 1

SPORTS:Congratulations to the Miami Heat for smashing the Atlanta Hawks 98-72 in Game 6. Hopefully, the Heat will go to the "A" and Bankhead Bounce the Hawks. Game 7 is on Sunday, May 3 at 1:00pm on ABC. Black is back. Let's Go Heat.
