The 1.5 Million CDs Lost In Sony London Fire Are Not Covered By Insurance

CDs, DVDs, Blu Ray, Vinyl And Equipment Burned To A Crisp

Sony CEO Howard Stringer

Reports indicate the 1,500,000 CDs and an as yet unnumbered amount of DVDs, stored in the Sony warehouse in Canning Town, London that was torched in a massive blaze this week, are reportedly not covered by insurance, due to the incident having transpired during riots.

A large number of blank discs Sony uses to make CDs, DVDs and Blu Ray products, were also incinerated in the fire, resulting in a shortage. Firefighters have battled the blaze for three days, as they've been dismantling the large, charred building, to reach a segment of the structure that is still emitting smoke. Three teens were arrested yesterday in connection with the blaze.

Sony has been having a very difficult time with insurance adjusters of late. Case in point, after a collective of hackers completely hacked the Sony websites, stole financial and personal data of 100,000,000 customers, creating billions in losses for the company, their insurance company sued, stating they are not paying Sony, as the incident occurred due to their negligence and poor security practices.

It was later revealed, Sony kept customers' valuable financial data and personal information on unencrypted servers, containing outdated firewalls and next to no security. They had the funds to provide good security, but Stringer's cockiness and cheapness in cutting corners caught up with the company.

Seriously, Who Burned Down The Sony Building In London

Well, Don't Look At Me

"Firestarter" movie

Who burned down the Sony warehouse in London, England. You would think it was me, based on my other worldly rage towards them for stealing copyrights from me, as they have done to others, but it wasn't. Well, unless I have developed some dormant "Firestarter" ability that flares up when I'm angry. Just kidding and I was nowhere near England when the warehouse was torched.

However, I'm wondering out loud, due to the fact the Sony warehouse is not near the epicenter of the riots, meaning it was clearly targeted for destruction - and destroy it they did. The building was completely burned to the ground. Sony has become one of the most hated companies in the world, having made so many enemies, from writers to software developers they've criminally stolen copyrights and patents from to hackers they've upset in targeting GeoHoltz. So seriously, who did it.

London Is Burning (The Summer 2011 Riots)

Firefighters battling a blaze in England, where buildings have been set on fire by rioters

The riots that have taken a hold of London, England and now northern city, Manchester, England, have gone on for four nights in a row. The trouble began when a senior police official refused to speak to a community activist and the family of a slain man, Mark Duggan, who was killed in a taxi cab by an officer. What began as a peaceful protest in Tottenham, East London, turned into full on riots, where buildings were looted and set on fire. Vehicles were also torched.

Firefighters fighting the blaze as police stand by

The police are going to have to work on how they interact with the populace, especially young Britons, who feel they are being targeted. Regrettably, with the police's credibility with the public at an all time low, thanks to revelations in the News International/News Corp phone hacking scandal, tensions have boiled over, as the average citizen, once again, especially young males, believe they are not being treated fairly.

Many young and old people are out of work, due to the global economic downturn, which began in America. The British economy has begun to show growth, on its way to a recovery. Due to university cuts, some that wish to go to school, can't afford to do so.

Londoners look on at a building in Tottenham that was set ablaze the previous night

Cuts are quite necessary, because in all nations, there will be abuses, but the poor and middle class must always be protected, as the most vulnerable in society, when it comes to finances. By all means, pay one's taxes, but the government should also do its part to ensure Britons have every opportunity available to them. More compromises need to be struck regarding university tuition.

Mark Duggan

All and all, the British government does do a lot for its citizens and should be commended for that. Over the years, I've been quite impressed at what I have witnessed. However, there are a few areas that need to be reassessed, such as police issues. Community cooperation is also needed, between the public and the police, if these very serious issues are to be properly resolved.

Football Games In England Are Being Cancelled Due To Riots

You Know It's Serious When Football Games Are Being Cancelled

Due to the rioting in England, several English Premier League football matches have been abruptly cancelled. The measure was taken out of concerns for public safety. This development has saddened many in Britain, a football loving nation, as the new season is scheduled to kick off shortly.

Sony Distribution Center Set On Fire During The London Riots

Sony CEO Howard Stringer

Sony is having a terrible year. The company's plants in Japan were seriously damaged by an earthquake and ensuing tsunami, hackers hacked many of their websites into a non-working state, whilst stealing 100 million customers financial and private data from their servers, which created massive financial loss, later reflected in their significant decrease in revenues.

If all that wasn't enough, a Sony distribution center in Canning Town, East London, was set on fire by people rioting for the fourth night in a row. For Sony, when it rains it pours. Beside News Corp, the Judiciary Report can't think of a company with more misery and trouble right now.

Polls Show Pippa Middleton Is More Popular Than Sister Kate Middleton

...Still Grabbing Headlines

Pippa Middleton

Polls and other popularity contests in Britain reveal, Pippa Middleton, is more popular with the people than her sister, Kate Middleton, who married Prince William, now the Duke of Cambridge. Plastic surgeons have revealed, clients have been coming in requesting her bottom (ok, that doesn't sound right - but you know what they mean).

A new poll indicates Pippa's tan, a shade of mocha, has been voted the most popular in Britain as well. Her sister was not among the finalists in the poll, chosen by the public. As the new documentary "Crazy About Pippa" is set to air, it is clear she has become more famous than the royal couple.

It remains to be seen if the Palace will attempt to limit her role in the public eye, to allow the royal couple more press coverage, which could prove difficult, as a number of websites report on Pippa's day to day activities, as they would other celebrities.

Amy Winehouse's Funeral Held In London

Amy Winehouse

The funeral for British singer, Amy Winehouse, was held in London, England today, as the singer was found dead on Saturday, July 23, 2011, of a suspected drug overdose. Dozens of Winehouse's family and friends, came out to pay their respects and bid her farewell.

Crowds gather outside the funeral

Winehouse's ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who publicly admitted he introduced the once healthy singer to heroin and crack-cocaine, marking a massive downward spiral in her life and career, was barred from the funeral by her family and denied permission to leave prison to attend the funeral.

Amy Winehouse's dad Mitch Winehouse

No official cause of death has been determined at this time, due to the autopsy being branded "inconclusive." Standard toxicology tests are underway, with the results expected in several weeks. Winehouse leaves behind an estate worth millions and numerous unreleased songs.

Amy Winehouse's family and friends

Her story should serve as a sobering reminder to many of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, as Winehouse had so much to live for, but due to not embracing the importance of remaining sober, lost her life. This really is a tragic waste of life, because as accomplished as she was in her chosen profession, there was still so much more she could have done over time, with the talents God gave her. Drug and alcohol abuse brought it to a halt.

Amy Winehouse's back up singers

It is full time the entertainment industry started doing more to keep artists drug free. It is ridiculous the number of entertainers that have overdosed. The National Basketball Association in America has taken a proactive role in educating athletes on the dangers of fame and wealth. It's time the music, film and television industries in Britain and America do the same.

Ryan Giggs and wife Stacey Giggs in Spain (Xclusive Pix)

Manchester United football star, Ryan Giggs' was the subject of a scathing June 21, 2011 interview, granted by his sister-in-law, Natasha Giggs, in Closer magazine. She slammed the married footballer over his sexual relationship with buxom reality TV star, Imogen Thomas, 28, as he was conducting an extramarital affair with her at the same time.

Natasha Giggs

Natasha, 32 believed their relationship was more to Giggs than it actually was, but has finally come to the realization, "It was just sex" for him. Giggs, 37 is still with his wife, Stacey, 32, who is also the mother of his children, as she has apparently forgiven him. The two were spotted vacationing in Majorca, Spain. Hopefully they will work out their marriage difficulties.

Rhodri Giggs

Natasha's interview confirmed something the Judiciary Report previously stated regarding her. She went into the relationship with Giggs' 33-year-old brother, Rhodri, with the intent of staying close to the football player. Natasha stated of her husband Rhodri Giggs, "I used to bicker about petty things with Rhodri and then think at the back of my mind: 'I don’t really care because I’m off to see Ryan later'" (Did Ryan Giggs Sister-In-Law Marry His Brother To Get Close To The Football Star). She was using him to get to his brother.
