It's Friday and I...

... am really looking forward to tomorrow's J&B Met.
... am going to do it in VIP style. I can't wait to dress up!
... will definitely take photos and a video clip to show you.
... am so stiff from all yesterday's activities at our teambuilding.
... can't wait for our mani and pedi night with the girls. Much needed and long overdue!
... am super busy arranging two baby showers! I've always promised them kick-ass baby showers. I just didn't know they'll fall pregnant at the same time!
... have already started my 25th birthday party arrangements. It will be a joint party with one of my best friends and the theme is diamonds and denim. And everyone is invited!
... went on a crap cabbage soup diet this week! All that effort and I only lost 1kg. Not cool.
... will rather exercise 4 hours everyday instead of watching what I eat. I love food too much!
... am really happy and relieved that Nelson Mandela has been discharged from Milpark Hospital. He is receiving home-based care and doing fine.

Happy Friday everyone! Anyone else going to the Met?

My very Festive Season!

This passed holiday was completely different than last year, because in just one year my life changed completely! New car, new house, new friends, a boyfriend and an almost whole new career path! The night before Christmas we hosted a dinner party at our house and invited friends whose families don't celebrate Christmas. We just wanted to make it special for those close to our hearts! Everyone had to bring their speciality. A dish that only they can rock. So, needless to say, we had the weirdest menu, but what a feast it was! Somehow my 'party bag' was brought out and everyone chose props to wear. My 'party bag' is filled with everything from 80's pink tights, to Playboy bunny gear, to Mardi Gras masks and even soccer gear. See? Not your traditional Christmas!

A few days after Christmas, I went to Hermanus for some much needed sun, sand and sea! We spent our days drinking cocktails, eating seafood, long walks on the beach, partying, sleeping in and loads of shopping! I was so relaxed, that I completely forgot about taking pictures.

I also got myself the cutest little bunny! The newest addition to the family, Kim. Of course I did not name her after Kim Kardashian. Pff.

We were planning on having an intimate lil' party at my boyfriend's house for New Years, but one drunken night I invited so many friends to join in too and they actually came. Twenty of them! After the massive New Year's party, which took us about two days to recover from, the boyfriend and I continued with the road trip. Next stop, Struisbaai.

After two days of hectic wind, we decided to go back to Hermanus. And I'm glad we did! Beach by day and party by night.

Retail therapy

It was so hot in Hermanus, even too hot to be at the beach, that we bought a blow-up pool. We were desperate to cool off! In the smallest corner of the garden, we found some shade! What started out to be just chilling-in-the-pool-with-drinks, turned into a pose-off which then resulted in some wrestling.

The next day we hit the road again. Destination: Wellington.
Caught up with my sister and more friends in Wellington for a party.

The following morning my sister and I headed back home for a very scary appointment with a needle! Her and I, and two other girls, all got piercings. A very impulsive decision, but we weren't going to let a teensy hangover stand in our way.

After the weekend I had to return to work. The first few days were great, but once I got into the swing of things, it felt as if I never left.

The Funniest Find!

This is kinda like my fabulous find, except, in this section I bring to you things that are very far from anything remotely close to fabulosity! Here I'll show you my most funniest and hideous discoveries.

Last night my friend and I went window shopping and walked passed a shop with the most horribly dressed mannequins. That's when we knew we just had to go inside and try stuff on. All for a good laugh of course. My friend and I split up and went on a mission to find two of the ugliest outfits we possibly could, then we met up in the fitting rooms.

This is what I chose for her...

And this is the horrendous creations she found for me. ..
I definitely won this round! That creamish excuse for a dress stole the show! We had so much fun and it was a good change from the usual shopping sprees, trying to find something sexy and just feeling fat in everything! Even though my hair was tied back and I wasn't wearing make-up and I went home with no shopping bags, I experienced the true meaning of retail therapy!

Any of you who would actually wear the above kak?

Our Wild Housewarming!

For weeks I've been blogging and tweeting about either house-hunting, furniture shopping, the count-down to the big move and then the housewarming! Well, what a housewarming it was! Friday night we had about 40 of our closest friends over (it could be more... I lost count) to celebrate our 'big step' of independence. Everything was going great, until someone whipped out a beer funnel. Uh oh! Not knowing exactly what it was or how to use it, I wasn't going to leave it over to the imagination. Oh no, definitely not. We didn't put beer in it, but everything else we could find. Curiosity sure as hell almost killed the cat!

Because we don't have our couches yet, we have a big open space which we turned into a dancefloor. Even our neighbours, who happened to be a group of girls too, also joined the party. Even though our place was left in a terrible state, our alcohol was finished, our microwave's inside was covered in cheese and our carpets completely ruined, we had so much fun! Thank goodness we decided on paper plates and plastic cups for the evening! Definitely one of the wildest housewarmings I've been to in a while. Never again. At least, not at our place!

My sister, cheering me on.

I'm sad and relieved that the funnel broke.

Making sure she doesn't waste a drop!

Even our cousin couldn't miss out on this one!

If we're gonna go with plastic and paper, we might as well make sure it's cute.

The next morning we opened our gifts - and boy, did we get gifts - and saw that we also got a nice blow-up portable pool. Needless to say, we blew it up immediately, filled it with water and got in the pool, clothes and all. Then the party started all over again. I knew if I stopped drinking, I would pass out, because I didn't sleep at all Friday night.
I've never laughed as much as I did that day! I was on a roll with my jokes, voices and impersonations.

Saturday was spent mostly in our mini-pool, but eventually decided that our place needs cleaning and so do we! The day was ended off with housewarming number two, but luckilly only a quiet(ish) braai with family and close friends. Thank you again to everyone who joined the celebration with us and thank you for all our gifts! We got (almost) everything we needed! We're about 80% settled in. Painting is in progress, then we can finally hang the curtains, paintings and mirrors, then those carpets and then we can start enjoying our little pozzy! Phew, hard work, but it's going to be worth it.
