Behind the Scenes of my Photo Shoot for Streetfighters Magazine!

A while ago I've been approached to pose for Streetfighters Magazine, a UK based magazine about motorcycles and any information you'll ever need on the World's most extreme performance specials. So this passed weekend I took my MUA of choice, Michelle Dickman, along to the shoot. We had loads of fun and once again, she did an amazing job with my hair and make-up.

I haven't seen the final results of the photos yet, but here are some photos taken behind the scenes to give you an idea. Posing on a bike is not easy, but playing biker-girl, with leather and knee-high boots, was super fun! Obviously the focus is on the bike, which is custom-built, but there'll loads of photos of me with, next to or on top of the bike. If we have the perfect shot, and I definitely think we do, it will be on the cover of the magazine. Otherwise, the 4 to 6 page spread and pull-out poster is more than enough for me!

Michelle on the bike with me!

This was probably one of the most uncomfortable poses I have ever done!

Peeps, keep your eyes peeled for the Streetfighters Magazine on shelves in the near future! I'll get my copy from the UK before it hits SA, but I'll share it with you too. I'm sure the photographer, Naco Rautenbach, will send me the pictures soon. So, there you have it! My first magazine deal and my first international exposure.

Happy Monday folks.

NFL Players Asking For Lower Alimony Payments; NBA Watching Closely

While NFL players lose paychecks, and the lockout continues to be stuck at a stand-still, the repercussions of a trickle-down effect could reach the littlest and most innocent of victims--player's children.  Out of work NFL players have now reached out to lawyers in hope of having their alimony and child-support payments modified to lower amounts.  The NBA, with their contract expiring in two months, must be watching this scenario closely.

According a report in the Bloomberg Business Report, a number of unidentified NFL players are preparing for the worst and looking into modifications of financial support if the dead lock between the NFLPA and team owners shuts down the 2011 season, leaving many players with no income.

The report said if the NFL players are unable to reach a collective bargaining agreement with their union, many more players will be looking for modifications in their support requirements.

The poster-child for child support, New York Jets defensive back Antonio Cromartie, already has his 2 year-old son's mother a little nervous and she is probably not alone.  Cromartie is reported to have sired nine children with eight different women.

Tina Julien, a 33 year-old nurse from California, said she is worried about being able to afford child-care for Cromartie's son if the NFLPA and team owners don't shake hands.

"The money I get from him [Cromartie] is definitely important," she stressed.  "Something would have to give."

Julien did not disclose how much support she receives from Cromartie.  The Jets defensive back made $1.7 million last season.

Raoul Felder, the well-known divorce lawyer with a history of famous clients, said it is not uncommon for the unemployed to make support modifications to ease their situation.  He said many Wall Street executives made the same moves during the recent crash.

"The NFL is an industry, and the industry is in trouble," said Felder.  "The men can't meet their obligations."

NFL players earn an average of about $1.8 million a year.  NBA players earn close to $6 million and are expecting a lockout when their basketball contract expires on June 30.

Judges usually allow modifications for child support during times of financial stress but, only after checking the athlete's outside income and selling off of assets including real estate, autos and even championship rings.  The players are not covered by their teams during the lockout and must now pay the added expense of up to $2000 a month for health insurance.

Most pro-athletes can usually afford the hit on their lifestyles during a loss of income, but it is their children's mothers and ex-wives who get clobbered when offered financial modifications.

The players are surrounded by an army of lawyers and agents bent on spreading butter on their own bread, while the women are left holding the licked clean knife unless they cut back or sell their self-esteem to some tawdry reality show.

Even if the NFLPA and team owners hug it out with an agreement, the players won't get their first paychecks until September.

For Pacquiao, a KO of Mosley is the Next Best Thing to Beating Mayweather and Quieting Hopkins

There have been huge paydays and much adulation on Manny Pacquiao's resume but the only thing that has eluded the holder of a record eight weight-class boxing titles is that fight with Floyd Mayweather, Jr..

If Mayweather continues avoiding getting into the ring with Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KO's), the next best thing for Pac-Man would be knocking out "Sugar" Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KO's)--a fighter who almost knocked Mayweather out and went the distance with the Pacquiao-ducking fighter.

Like they say;  if you can't meet 'em, knock out some one they couldn't.

Pacquiao, who defends his WBO welterweight title against Mosley on Saturday night at the MGM Grand, could kill two birds with one punch this Saturday night.  A knockout would send a big message to Mayweather...and Bernard Hopkins, as a foot note.

First, Pac-Man can dispose of a common opponent, Mosley, who had the undefeated Mayweather beaten in the second round of their May 1, 2010 bout and, even though Mosley faded and was thoroughly dominated after that round, hung on for the final bell and lost in a 12-round unanimous decision.

Nothing would be a better measuring stick--maybe the only gauge for Pacquiao against Mayweather--than to brag that he did what Mayweather couldn't--put away the same fighter who almost knocked "Money" out.

Secondly, Pacquiao can lay to rest Hopkins' absurd rantings that the Filipino had never beaten a "black boxer from the streets," even if it might be considered that the 39 year-old Mosley was past his prime.

The only black fighter Pacquiao has defeated was Joshua Clottey last March, but in November, Hopkins railed that the Ghanaian didn't count because he wasn't "from the states with a slick style."

Still, there will be detractors, even if the Philippines senator KO's Mosley.  Besides being seven years closer to collecting social security than Pacquiao, Mosley is an 8/1 underdog and, unbelievably, hasn't won a fight in over two years.  Even Norm MacDonald has publicly put 25-grand on Pac-Man.

The only thing that makes this fight relevant is Pacquiao.  The song-recording, fragrance-making brand-name is like Beyonce and Old Spice rolled together in the world of boxing.  Even so, the champ better not take Mosley too lightly.

Mosley is a  title holder in three divisions and has a wicked right hook.  His last victory was a ninth-round TKO against Antonio Margarito on January 24, 2009.  The same fighter Pacquiao beat to a bloody stump last November, but couldn't put away in the final rounds.

Mosley has warned Pacquiao that he "hits three times faster than Margarito" too.

If Pacquiao is going to knockout Mosley, it would have to be in the later rounds after the older fighter is sucking wind and tired.  Mosley has the hand speed to keep up with Pacquiao for the first five or six rounds, so the Filipino will have to play it safe for the first half of the fight by keeping Mosley at bay.

Pacquiao/Mosley is a better match-up than Pacquiao/Margarito, so Pac-Man must play it safe and can't get sloppy.  Pacquiao has the stamina and hand speed to go 12 rounds, Mosley doesn't--he showed that after he went all out in the second-round then tired against Mayweather.

Pacquiao is now an international star and bigger than boxing itself.  He has won 13 straight fights and has endorsements from  auto parts stores to computers.  A lot is riding on the welterweight--including future fights in Las Vegas, boxing returning to network television and the fight game in general.  After Pacquiao, who is there?

Bob Arum of Top Rank said Pacquiao is the driving force of boxing right now. "More people will know about this fight than any other fight in history," he claims.  Could a Pacquiao loss could be the final bell for the sport.  Maybe not, a Mosley/Pacquiao rematch might have some appeal--if only to see how Pacquiao would rebound.

If Pacquiao listens to his trainer Freddie Roach--which he is prone not to do--and paces himself until the late rounds, he might be glaring down at Mosley on the canvas and looking up to that one big match-up with Mayweather.

Alright, looking down at Mosley is probably the only reality.

lady gaga 2011–present: Born This Way

2011–present: Born This Way
Gaga's second studio album and third major release Born This Way will be released on May 23, 2011. She announced the title of the album during her acceptance speech for Video of the Year at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Its arrival follows the release of its homonymous lead single on February 11, 2011. The previous date for the single release of February 13, 2011, was tweeted by Gaga at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Day, 2011. Described as "a marriage of electronic music with major [...] metal or rock 'n' roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats", Born This Way will be Gaga's third release in three years. She stated, "It came so quickly. I've been working on [the album] for months, and I feel very strongly that it's finished right now. Some artists take years. I don't. I write music every day. With two tracks already confirmed by Gaga—one she has been performing during The Monster Ball Tour, she has referred to the album as "the greatest" of the decade about "what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid." Likening Born This Way to "bad kids going to church" that are "having fun on a high level", Gaga characterized her new music as "something so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or a fucking meat dress" and upon hearing it, Akon remarked that she will take music to the "next level." On February 13, Gaga performed live for the first time her single "Born This Way", released on February 11, on the 53rd Grammy Awards. She was carried by fashion models through the red carpet in a gigantic embryo-shaped incubator (called "The Vessel" by its designer, Hussein Chalayan), from where she emerged onstage for her performance. The song debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, being the 19th number-one debut and the 1,000th number-one single in the history of the charts. On April 18, it was announced that Queen guitarist Brian May provides electric guitar for the track "You And I".
Lending her vocals elsewhere, Gaga also paired with Elton John to record an original duet for the animated feature film Gnomeo & Juliet. The song, titled "Hello, Hello", was released on February 11, 2011, without Gaga's vocals. The duet version is only featured in the film.
