Police Officer Arrested In News Corp's Phone Hacking Scandal

Rupert Murdoch

Another arrest has been made in the News International/News Corp phone hacking scandal. An unnamed police constable (officer) with the Metropolitan Police, has been arrested for taking bribes and leaking protected information to News International/News Corp.

Two senior police officials have already resigned under the current scandal. Previously, News International/News Corp employee, Rebekah Brooks, publicly bragged during a hearing and to a celebrity about bribing police officers (Rupert Murdoch Executive Admitted To Bribing The Metropolitan Police (Video).

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner, John Yates, resigned (but has not been arrested)

It's a sad day for Scotland Yard and the Metropolitan Police that Rupert Murdoch and his corrupt companies have brought the force to this juncture, but such conduct cannot be tolerated. I'm sorry it happened, but Murdoch and company cannot be allowed to engage in such criminality and they should pay for bringing this shame on the Met.
